Located in the South Lake Union neighborhood, this project is an eight-story commercial building, with retail space at street level to enhance the pedestrian experience.
Fazio Associates is working with the client and design team to create a distinctive building. At ground level, new street trees, bike racks, seating, and paving contribute to making the project pedestrian friendly in the highly walkable and bikeable neighborhood. Special consideration was given to the 5th façade on the roof deck, since the roof will be seen from surrounding buildings. It features a radial pattern of greenroof around two amenity spaces with a fire pit and seating area, as well as raised planters with trees, and a pergola element that incorporates solar panels. The design reflects the client's recurring theme of outer space, with the circular and radial elements. Integrated planters with small trees and shrubs at the third floor patio spaces soften the edge and provide afternoon shading.
